Every day, our Recycling and Waste Operations team delivers essential services that help keep the Sutherland Shire clean, safe and sustainable. Behind every collection is a team of dedicated people, a complex fleet operation and a commitment to delivering for our community.

We're looking for an experienced operational leader to coordinate these critical services. If you're passionate about leading people, improving operations and creating a strong safety culture, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.

Reporting to the Waste Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of waste operations, overseeing people, fleet and resources to ensure safe, efficient and reliable services. You'll work closely with your leaders to build capability, drive continuous improvement and deliver operational excellence while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, compliance and safety.

What you’ll bring

You’re an authentic leader who enjoys developing people and improving the way services are delivered. You have experience leading operational teams in transport, logistics, heavy fleet or similar operations and are confident making decisions in a fast-paced workplace where no two days are the same.

We’re looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience leading frontline operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of WHS, HVNL and transport safety principles.
- The ability to build high-performing teams and foster a positive safety culture.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing operational resources, budgets and performance.
- A Diploma in Logistics, Business, Project Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- A Construction Industry White Card and current Class C Driver Licence.
- An HR Driver Licence,



ICAM qualifications and experience within the waste industry or Local Government will be highly regarded.

Package & Work Details

- Package: $111,776 - $124,574 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Plus an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a will be paid.
- Hours of work:Full Time, working 38 hours per week working a 9 day fortnight,
