We are seeking a skilled Baker to join the team at Dougie's Donuts in Waterford West, QLD. This is a full time position where you will be at the heart of our bakery operations, creating delicious baked goods and pastries that delight our customers every day. As a Baker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our products, ensuring that every item that leaves our kitchen meets our high standards. Key responsibilities

- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and donuts according to established recipes and quality standards
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency in taste, texture and appearance
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, proofers and other specialized machinery
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are cooked to perfection
- Decorate and finish baked goods as required, including icing, glazing and filling pastries
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout the bakery, adhering to all relevant regulations
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages to management
- Assist in training and mentoring junior baking staff as needed
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet daily production targets and customer orders
- Troubleshoot baking issues and adapt recipes or techniques to achieve desired results

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role within a commercial bakery or pastry kitchen
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, including dough preparation, fermentation, proofing and baking methods
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and machinery, with the ability to operate and maintain equipment safely




- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certifications or qualifications preferred
- Ability to follow recipes precisely whilst also bringing creativity to product development
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines
- A keen eye for detail to ensure consistency and quality in all baked products
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy ingredients and standing for extended periods
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, as bakery operations often begin before dawn
- A passion for baking and a commitment to producing high-quality products that customers love
