We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Accountant to join our Castle Hill head office and help manage our finance functions, including Australia-based and overseas team members. If you would like to find out more about us, please go to .au

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the Financial Accountant will support the financial management and reporting requirements of multiple entities across the SAS Water Solutions Group.

This is a hands-on role that also includes coordinating, supervising and developing Australia based and overseas finance employees working in-house and remotely. The successful applicant will ensure that responsibilities are clearly allocated, deadlines are achieved and all work meets Australian accounting, taxation and internal-control requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance-sheet and cash-flow reporting.
- Complete balance-sheet reconciliations and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions.
- Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll and banking processes.
- Allocate tasks, establish priorities and monitor daily and weekly deliverables.
- Conduct regular online meetings, training sessions.
- Develop documented procedures, checklists and clear accountability across the finance team.




- Maintain effective communication between the Australian office, overseas employees and operational managers.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with budgets, forecasts and cash-flow planning.
- Analyse financial performance, margins, project costs and budget variances.
- Monitor revenue recognition, work in progress and unbilled revenue.
- Support contract, project and job-profitability reporting.
- Assist with month-end, year-end and external audit processes.
- Strengthen internal controls and improve finance systems and procedures.
- Protect confidential financial, employee and commercial information.

About You

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion preferred.
- At least three years of relevant financial or management accounting experience.
- Experience supervising remote, offshore or hybrid finance employees.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation and statutory reporting obligations.
- Experience preparing management accounts and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Effective communication and staff-coordination capabilities.




- The ability to provide clear instructions and manage performance remotely.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- A proactive, accountable and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Experience within a service, engineering, construction, project-based or multi-entity environment will be highly regarded. Knowledge of Sage Evolution, Microsoft Teams or similar accounting and collaboration systems would be advantageous.

Salary range

We offer a remuneration package commensurate with your experience and relevant tertiary qualifications with a starting base salary range between $90,000 to $100,000 PA.
