We are looking for the next great fit for our small friendly team. Due to client growth, we need an accountant with 2 plus years’ experience in public practice preparing financials, BAS and tax returns for all types of entities (except SMSFs) as well as general business services and support for business clients. You must love working hands on with business accounting and tax returns and have a focus on systems, efficiency, and client care. Your experience with Xero will be highly regarded as most of our clients use this system. As we are a small practice of 6 staff you must be willing to pitch in on whatever need arises for your clients. The current staff are highly experienced, so you if you need mentoring, you’re in good hands.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Remuneration based on experience between $75-$95k package depending on experience.

This is a full-time position, but it comes with the option of taking advantage of flexible schedule from 30 hours per week if that is something you would prefer to provide you with a work/life balance.

Work from home for some hours available after initial settling period.

North Lakes location, no city commute.

Free on-site and nearby street parking are available.

100% cloud based and open to new technology (we are commencing our AI journey)

Close mentoring with all the team and directors should you need training.

The Directors will provide you with mentoring to fill any skill gaps you may have and help you move into more senior roles.

SOME OF WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

Year-End accounts and tax returns, all entity types, including mid-to-large sized groups, up to $10 million turnover

Management accounting support and financials for larger groups of clients.

Monthly and quarterly accounts and activity statements, including basic management reporting and supporting workpapers.

Payroll, Xero, Bookkeeping support and troubleshooting

Ad-hoc general accounting, tax and business services and advisory support as required.

Assisting partners with special projects as they arise

QBCC reporting and compliance

Build rapport with clients, with a clear understanding of client expectations and achieving high levels of client service

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You have at least 2+ years of experience working in an Australian Accounting Firm

Can do attitude: as a small firm everyone rolls up their sleeves and pitches in as needed to get the best result for the client and to make everyone’s life as stress free as possible.

Xero and QBCC experience preferred.

Strong communicator, attention to detail, strong team contributor

Be system minded – you’re happy to follow systems and create them to improve operations and client experience.
