Our Brisbane office currently has an exciting opportunity for an individual to take the next step with a rapidly growing business as a Client Accountant. This is a engaging and client-facing role with the ability to build strong relationships.
We’re looking for a confident and driven professional who enjoys working closely with clients and is ready to step up and contribute to a high performing team.
What you will be doing?
- Providing end-to-end financial and management accounting support internally and externally
- Acting as point of contact for your portfolio of clients
- Preparation of client annual financial reports (IFRS)
- Assistance with preparation and lodgement of BAS/IAS, FBT and Income Tax Returns
- Management and oversight of bookkeeping team
- Preparation of budgets and financial reports
- Providing payroll services to clients including Workers Insurance registrations, Payroll Tax and STP reporting
What are we looking for?
- An accounting degree and membership of a recognised accounting body (or studying towards membership)
- At least 3-4 years' experience in a role responsible for corporate financial management and taxation
- Extensive experience in the provision of end-to-end financial management and accounting services, including preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports,
and statutory financial accounts
- Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS statement, treasury management and payroll management
- A high level of computer literacy and experience with cloud-based software solutions
- Advanced knowledge of Xero, Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
- A friendly personality with a high attention to customer service
- Strong organisational skills, capacity to successfully manage competing priorities with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a team
- High level written communication skills; ability to prepare, review and edit correspondence and reports in an appropriate style
- A high level of attention to detail, diligent work ethic with a customer focus
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, unsupervised and independent capacity
- Ability to think laterally and develop creative, innovative solutions to challenges.
The following additional attributes would also be beneficial for the applicant:
- Registration as a BAS Agent or Tax Agent
- Compliance experience in dealing with regulatory bodies including ASIC, ATO etc
- Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS statements
- Experience with payroll management
- Advanced knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
