Ambrose®is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing Early Years Learning and School Age Care services. With a team of 550 employees and growing, we currently operate over 50 school age care and early years education services across Catholic schools in the Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains region.

Reporting to the IT Business Systems Manager, the IT Support Engineer is responsible for delivering end-to-end IT support and administration across the organisation. The role provides both frontline and advanced (Level 2) technical support, resolving complex issues, maintaining system reliability, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services.

The IT Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring technology services operate effectively across a geographically dispersed environment. This includes troubleshooting across devices, identity, applications, and network layers; managing system configuration and administration; and supporting the delivery of IT projects and service enhancements.

The role requires a proactive and solutions-focused approach, with accountability for incident resolution, problem management, and improving user experience through better processes, automation, and documentation.

Desired skills and experience:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Working Rights within Australia
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues across multiple systems and platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple requests in a dynamic workplace
- Robust organisational skills and attention to detail




- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small IT team
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and service quality
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
- Willingness to travel between sites as required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and macOS environments
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune and endpoint management
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (identity and access management)
- Experience with IT service management tools and service desk workflows
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, internet connectivity)
- Familiarity with SaaS application integration and identity federation (SSO)
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices
- Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle and configuration management
- 5 or more years' experience in an IT support or engineer role, preferably in a multi-site environment
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, and modern endpoint environments
- Experience with IT Service Management and IT Governance frameworks
- Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver outcomes
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed users
- Experience in education or community services sector (highly regarded)
