Overview

We're partnering with a well-established enterprise organisation seeking an experienced System Engineer to join a high-performing technology team. This is an prospect to work across large-scale, business-critical infrastructure, contributing to platform stability, modernisation and ongoing operational excellence.

Responsibilities

- Administering and supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server environments.
- Managing VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter and the virtual machine lifecycle.
- Delivering operating system upgrades, platform standardisation and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Automating infrastructure processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Supporting secure, resilient and highly available enterprise infrastructure.
- Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to continuously improve platform performance and reliability.

Qualifications





- Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with exposure to both operating systems.
- Hands-on experience managing VMware environments, including ESXi, vCenter and virtual machine lifecycle management.
- Proven experience delivering operating system upgrades, lifecycle management and platform standardisation projects.
- Strong automation and scripting skills using technologies such as PowerShell, Python or Terraform.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure security, networking and identity management.
- Experience working within large enterprise or highly regulated environments.
- Industry certifications such as VMware VCP, RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft certifications or ITIL are highly regarded.
