The Role

As an IT Support Technician, you will support, configure, troubleshoot, and secure IT and network environments used across a range of electronic security systems and client sites.

You will work closely with clients, project managers, technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure systems are correctly configured, thoroughly tested, and delivered to a high standard.

This role combines office-based support, system pre-staging, remote troubleshooting, and occasional attendance at client sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, IP addressing, and NAT.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network, server, and system-related faults.
- Pre-stage, configure, test, and document IT and electronic security systems before deployment.
- Support Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and VMware environments.
- Provide responsive Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to clients and internal teams.
- Assist with the deployment and integration of CCTV, access control, alarm, and related security platforms.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and technical teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate system documentation,



configuration records, and technical notes.
- Follow Fortis Security’s safety, quality, cybersecurity, and project-delivery standards.

About You

You are a technically capable and customer‑focused IT qualified who enjoys solving complex problems and working across a variety of environments.

You will ideally have:

- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.
- Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and virtualised infrastructure.
- Experience troubleshooting network, server, hardware, and software issues.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and non‑technical users.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing reliable, well‑documented solutions.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and remain calm under pressure.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- Permanent residency or citizenship, with unrestricted full‑time working rights in Australia.

Experience with electronic security systems will be highly regarded. Knowledge of access control, CCTV, video management, intrusion detection, or alarm integration would be a distinct advantage.
