Solmech is currently seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrician to join our team on renewable energy projects across Recent South Wales. This role involves carrying out high voltage switching, maintenance, testing and commissioning activities across substations, switchboards and associated electrical infrastructure.

We're looking for an experienced HV Electrician who is confident working in live operational environments, has strong switchboard experience, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability and workmanship.

To Be Successful You Will Have

Essential

- Current NSW Electrical Licence
- High Voltage Switching Certification/Authorisation
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Current LVR/CPR
- Demonstrated experience performing HV switching and isolation activities
- Experience working on switchboards, substations and medium voltage equipment
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Ability to work both day and night shifts as required
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and permit systems

Desirable

- Previous experience on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects




- Experience with testing and commissioning HV electrical systems

- Experience carrying out inspections and maintenance of switchboards, inverters and associated HV equipment
- First Aid Certificate

Key Responsibilities

- Perform High Voltage switching and isolation activities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works
- Complete testing, commissioning and fault-finding of HV electrical systems
- Inspect and maintain switchboards, substations, MV equipment and associated infrastructure
- Assist with fault response and restoration activities
- Support site operations while ensuring compliance with safety procedures, permits and operational requirements
- Work closely with site supervisors, project teams and maintenance personnel to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
