u&u; Recruitment Partners are partnering with a leading project-based organisation seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support diverse construction and infrastructure projects. This is a hands‑on role where you'll regularly travel to project sites, coach frontline teams, influence positive safety behaviours and help deliver high-quality projects safely and efficiently.
Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager and working with a broad HSE team, you will be responsible for providing health and safety support to the project teams on various sites across Brisbane and surrounding areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with project managers, supervisors and field teams to provide practical health, safety and environmental advice across multiple construction sites;
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations to identify risks and drive continuous improvement;
- Develop, review and implement project-specific HSE documentation, including risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements and management plans;
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented and embedded;
- Coach and mentor employees, subcontractors and leaders to strengthen safety capability and foster a proactive safety culture;
- Support project mobilisation, pre-start planning and risk management activities to ensure work is completed safely from day one;
- Monitor legislative compliance, client requirements and internal HSE standards across all operational activities;
- Assist with workers' compensation, injury management and return-to-work processes where required; and
- Contribute to HSE initiatives, training programs, audits and continuous improvement projects across the wider business.

The ideal candidate:
You're an approachable and influential safety professional who enjoys being out in the field rather than behind a desk. You build credibility quickly, communicate confidently with people at all levels and thrive in fast-paced construction environments. You're comfortable travelling between sites and are passionate about partnering with operational teams to achieve genuine safety outcomes.
To be successful you will have:
- Minimum five years' experience in an HSE Advisor or similar role within construction or another blue-collar industry;
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or a higher qualification;
- Solid working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety management systems;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence frontline teams and leaders;
- A proactive, practical and collaborative approach to improving safety performance; and
- Current Construction White Card and a valid driver's licence, with the flexibility to travel regularly to project sites.
