Job Overview
Location: King of the Hill, Western Australia. Compensation: Hourly rates from $55/hr to $57/hr and $82/hr to $86/hr, with competitive pay ranging up to $75/hr and site uplift and project completion bonuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with grid connection activities from feasibility through generator.
- Prepare and manage connection enquiries and applications (r0 & r1).
- Provide administrative support to Project Managers, Coordinators, and Estimators.
- Assist with timesheet entry, labour scheduling and logistics updates.
- Carry out maintenance activities on all Fixed Plant Equipment.
- Execute work in accordance with schedule, scope and quality standards.
- Analyse metallurgical performance and cost information, both historical and leading.
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Develop and maintain long‑term mine schedules to support strategic planning.
- Design pits, stages and strip sequences aligned to production plans.
- Conduct routine condition monitoring tasks, including vibration analysis, thermography and ultrasonic testing.
- Carry out sensor installation, in‑situ field balancing and alignment tasks.
- Monitor, update and execute shutdown planning functions (forecasting and weekly shutdown cadence objectives).
- Provide field proficiency training that complies with national standards.
- Observe operators’ current skill levels and identify skill gaps requiring attention.
- Oversee complex formwork, reinforcement and related quality & delivery requirements (FRP).
- Champion safety by upholding the highest health and safety standards.
- Lead a regional laboratory and support a local team while maintaining hands‑on engagement.
- Take ownership of contract risk and margin protection; identify, assess and monetize variations early.
- Lead day‑to‑day coordination of autonomous production drilling activities, including pre‑drilling coordination and drill pattern maintenance.
- Operate advanced rigs (Sandvik DPi, DI650i and Epiroc D65). Manage dump truck operation in a production mining environment.
- Undertake asset assessments (condition, risk, performance) to inform renewal strategies.
- Lead delivery of engineering and advisory work across water and wastewater projects.
- Produce accurate monthly Cost Value Reconcilations (CVRs) and financial forecasts.
- Lead the design and governance of Indigenous employment and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programmes.
- Plan and coordinate key improvement projects across the site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Australian Recognised Trade Certificate.
- Experience working in surface mining is preferred.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Seven (7) years of Quantity Surveying experience.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB or equivalent).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE or equivalent).
- At least 12 months operating dump trucks in a production mining environment.
- Experience operating advanced rigs such as Sandvik DPi, DI650i and Epiroc D65.
- Relevant qualifications or tickets for roles such as concreting, bricklaying, blocklaying, carpentry, wall & floor tiling, plumbing and other related trades.
- Understanding of electronics for signalling hardware design and operating system installation.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
