Experienced Permanent pharmacy assistant

Chemist By Mail is seeking a Permanent Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Maroubra, NSW. This is a full-time position offering stability and the opportunity to develop a long-term career in the pharmacy sector. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards of patient care and service excellence that Chemist By Mail is known for.

Key responsibilities

- Assist pharmacists in the dispensing and preparation of medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmaceutical standards
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock rotation, ordering, and maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Process prescriptions and maintain detailed pharmaceutical records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, addressing queries and providing basic health information as directed
- Maintain a clean and organised pharmacy environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Operate pharmacy systems and equipment, including cash registers and dispensing technology
- Support the pharmacist in performing compliance checks and quality assurance procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues as needed

What we're looking for

- A recognised Pharmacy Assistant qualification or equivalent certification (such as Pharmacy Assistant Technician accreditation)
- Current or willing to obtain a Statement of Attainment in Pharmacy Assistant competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy,



particularly when handling medications and prescriptions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and healthcare professionals
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management systems and general computer skills
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable
