Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced National Pulley Estimator to establish and lead a centralised estimating function for our national pulley product group. This is an exciting opportunity to influence business performance, improve estimating accuracy, strengthen supplier partnerships and support the continued growth of one of Australia's leading conveyor businesses.

About the Role

Based in Mackay and reporting to the Product Specialist, you will work closely with our national Sales team to deliver accurate, timely and commercially sound estimates for recent conveyor pulleys, pulley refurbishments and overhauls, pulley projects, as well as lagging, machining, fabrication and associated component work.

In this role, you will establish and lead a centralised national estimating function for pulley products, supporting our national operations by delivering reliable pricing, improving estimating processes and contributing to commercially successful outcomes.



You will prepare detailed cost estimates by interpreting customer specifications, engineering drawings and inspection reports, while developing and maintaining estimating templates, cost models and pricing tools to improve consistency, accuracy and efficiency.

You will also build strong relationships with preferred suppliers by negotiating and maintaining pricing agreements and supplier schedules, evaluating supplier pricing, lead times and technical compliance, and maintaining accurate cost databases to ensure estimates remain competitive and commercially robust.

About You

You are a commercially minded estimator who enjoys working with technical products and collaborating across multiple business functions. You have a robust understanding of manufacturing or mining services and are confident managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will ideally have:

- Minimum five years' experience in estimating, project controls, procurement, manufacturing, technical sales or heavy engineering.
- Experience with conveyor pulleys, conveyor components, fabrication, machining or refurbishment work.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess cost, risk and margin.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.




- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with estimating and business systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with suppliers and negotiating commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

You will ideally hold qualifications in Engineering, Estimating, Project Management, Business or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience. Mechanical engineering or trade qualifications within heavy engineering, mining services or conveyor components will be highly regarded.
