KICS Kinship & Foster Care focuses on securing stable and enduring kinship & foster care placements for children and young people in the context of their whole family.
KICS is a partnership service delivered by Kummara Limited & Infinity Community Solutions Ltd.
KICS is a child and young person centred, whole-of-family focused out-of-homecare service resting on the foundation practice framework of the Family Partnership Model. The service provides out-of-home care support while maintaining a whole-of-family lens focused on wellbeing, attachment and bonding through case management and the application of family-led decision making principles.
The Kinship and Kinship & Foster Care Caseworker roles will assess, train, support and monitor the Statement of Standards of Care for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal & Torres Strait children and young people in placements with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander kinship& foster care in the Brisbane & Moreton Bay Region. This includes provision of primary and short break placement assessments, regular home visits to provide support and to monitor the Statements of Standards of Care, provide afterhours on-call support, negotiating carer placement agreements and formulating Placement Care Plans to guide care provision in line with the Departmental Case Plan.
This position is based in Caboolture.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- hold or be working towards completion of a bachelor's degree in child, youth or family intervention or tertiary qualification in psychology, social work,
counselling or a related field (essential)
- experience working in the child protection or family support sector
- have experience delivering training and completing Social Assessments
- be highly committed, resourceful and have a passion for delivering a high standard of service
- have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation impacting the Child Protection sector & associated government initiatives across Queensland
- hold a Current C class Australian driving license as you will be required to regularly drive a company vehicle (essential)
- be fully vaccinated against whooping cough (desirable)
