RAID is Growing — Structural Engineers Wanted for Bowen Basin FIFO Projects

RAID Structural Engineering is growing, and we’re looking for motivated Structural Engineers to join our team as we expand our on‑site presence across Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

This is a rare opportunity to work across structural remediation design, temporary works, and on‑site engineering within one of Australia’s most agile mining environments. If you enjoy solving real‑world structural problems, collaborating with contractors, and seeing your designs built in the field, you’ll fit right in.

The Role

You’ll be part of RAID’s structural remediation team, supporting our mining clients with practical, safe, and innovative engineering solutions.

- This position includes a flexible FIFO‑style roster, typically 4 days on‑site per fortnight (Monday–Thursday), with the remainder of your time spent working with the RAID team from Brisbane on design, assessments, and project coordination.
- Performing site inspections of upcoming structural remediation works.
- Perform structural assessments on the existing mining structures.
- Design of structural remediation works, including any temporary works that may be required to safely facilitate its installation.
- Perform risk assessments on the defects identified to help prioritise the severity of the defects and the level of risk that the client is exposed to.




- Collaborate with contractors and the client to develop temporary and permanent engineering solutions.
- Prepare design and inspection reports and certificates.
- Manage the design and coordination of structural drawings with technical staff and drafters.
- Engaging with the broader team to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions tailored to each project’s unique challenges.
