About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our headspace team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 12–25.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence-based therapeutic counselling and mental health support to young people experiencing, or at risk of developing, mild to moderate mental health concerns. You'll build strong therapeutic relationships, empower young people to achieve their goals, and work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and community services to deliver holistic, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide evidence-based mental health assessment,



counselling and therapeutic interventions for young people.

- Manage a clinical caseload, including care planning, care coordination, advocacy and referrals.

- Deliver individual, family and group interventions using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.

- Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and community services to support positive outcomes.

- Facilitate youth engagement activities, community programs and mental health promotion initiatives.

- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to clinical governance through supervision, peer review and quality improvement.

- Provide inclusive, culturally safe care that supports the diverse needs of young people and their families.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Counselling or Psychotherapy, with current professional registration or membership (AHPRA, AASW or PACFA, as applicable).

- Experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions, ideally with young people.

- A sound understanding of youth mental health, adolescent development and person-centred care.

- The ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with young people and work collaboratively with families and other service providers.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

- A commitment to inclusive, culturally safe practice and positive outcomes for young people from diverse backgrounds.

- The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- A passion for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
