About the Role
The Programs Supervisor oversees program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure that programs are meeting the needs of prisoners and the prison environment. Stakeholder management and community engagement is a high priority for the Programs Supervisor to ensure positive relationships that enable high quality service delivery within the prison. Some of your duties will include :
- Supervise the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a range of programs and services to support and assist prisoners' personal development towards successful reintegration into society and a reduction in recidivism.
- Supervise and lead a team of Programs staff ensuring ongoing training, support and performance management is provided.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable cohesive service delivery.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have :
- Experience in staff management and supervision
- Demonstrated skills and experience in welfare practice or related fields
- Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners
- Knowledge of the limitations imposed on program delivery within a correctional environment
- Experience in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse cohorts, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Qualifications / requirements
- A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in human services, welfare practice, education or related fields are highly regarded.
