About the Company
This is a long-established healthcare organisation with operations across Australia and New Zealand and a highly regarded payroll function. You will work closely with employees, managers, HR and Finance in a skilled, down-to-earth environment where Payroll is seen as a critical internal service.
About the Opportunity
You will initially take ownership of a fortnightly New Zealand manufacturing payroll. Once established, you will also support the Australian payroll operation. This role will suit an experienced in-house payroll professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving and improving how payroll operates.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning the end-to-end New Zealand payroll initially
- Supporting broader Australian payroll operations once established
- Completing payroll reconciliations, reporting and data checks
- Contributing to the testing and implementation of ADP Payforce
- Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving issues before processing
- Managing payroll enquiries from employees and managers
- Working closely with HR, Finance and other stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, controls and efficiency
What You’ll Need
- Proven end-to-end, in-house payroll processing experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to identify incorrect or incomplete payroll information and resolve it
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills
- The confidence to work independently and speak up when something does not look right
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- A genuine interest in payroll systems, process improvement and continuous learning
