New South Wales

Be part of one of Sydney's fastest-growing artisan bakery and hospitality brands.

This is an opportunity to join an award-winning hospitality business that has built a loyal following through exceptional food, traditional craftsmanship and outstanding customer experiences. From humble beginnings, the business has grown into a thriving wholesale and retail operation with multiple locations across Sydney, backed by a passionate team and a proud family heritage. Exciting expansion continues, with new stores planned for the Sydney CBD and Airport precinct. As the business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced HR Manager to help shape the next chapter.

About the Role

This is a truegeneralist HR role where no two days look the same.

Reporting to the Director, you'll partner closely with operational leaders across the business, providing practical HR support while ensuring the people function keeps pace with rapid growth. You'll enjoy being visible, approachable and involved in the day-to-day operation rather than sitting behind a desk.

One day you could be recruiting for a new venue, onboarding employees, supporting a manager through a performance conversation, coordinating a visa sponsorship, resolving an employee relations matter or assisting with payroll. If you're someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in getting things done, you'll thrive in this role.

You'll be responsible for:

- End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
- Employee relations and performance management
- Coaching and supporting managers with people matters
- Managing the employee lifecycle from commencement through to separation
- Coordinating employee sponsorships and visa administration
- Supporting return-to-work (RTW) processes and employee wellbeing

- Providing backup support to payroll and maintaining accurate employee records
- Developing and improving HR policies, systems and processes
- Ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards
- Building strong relationships with managers and employees across the business
- Partnering with leaders to solve people challenges and drive positive workplace outcomes

About You

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves.

You'll bring:

- Proven experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation
- Experience managing recruitment, employee relations and performance matters
- The ability to build trusted relationships with managers at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
- A proactive, practical mindset and a willingness to take ownership
- Confidence working in a fast-paced operational workplace
- Intermediate – Advanced MS Suite

Highly regarded:

- Experience using Connecteam
- Experience with Xero Payroll
- Hospitality, retail or food manufacturing experience
- Experience coordinating employee sponsorships and visa processes

Why You'll Love It

- Competitive salary package
- Join an ambitious business experiencing exciting growth
- Be involved in opening new stores across Sydney
- Build and grow your HR team as the business continues to expand
- A role with genuine variety, autonomy and leadership
- Work with passionate leaders who care deeply about their people and products

If you're looking for a hands-on HR role where you can influence culture, support leaders and grow alongside a successful Australian hospitality business, we'd love to hear from you.
