We are seeking a passionate and talented Research Officer – Immunobiology & Cancer Immunotherapy to join our interdisciplinary research team and contribute to the development of next-generation cancer immunotherapies.

About the role

This newly created position will support a research program focused on understanding the biology that regulates T-cell function in childhood solid tumours and developing strategies to improve the effectiveness of CAR-T cell therapies.

The successful candidate will investigate mechanisms that influence immune cell activation, persistence, and anti-tumour activity, with the goal of developing more durable and effective immunotherapy approaches.

You will have the opportunity to work across both experimental and computational research streams, including analysis of patient-derived datasets from precision medicine programs, investigation of tumour immune microenvironments, and functional validation of immune responses.





This role offers the opportunity to contribute to research that may directly inform future clinical trials and therapeutic applications for children with cancer.

Key responsibilities

- Design and conduct preclinical and translational cancer immunology research projects.
- Investigate T-cell biology, immune regulation, and mechanisms influencing CAR-T therapy effectiveness.
- Perform advanced cellular and molecular biology experiments.
- Develop and optimise immune assays and functional immune studies.
- Analyse patient-derived tumour datasets and immune profiling data.
- Study interactions between tumour cells and the immune microenvironment.
- Contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and research reporting.
- Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and multidisciplinary research teams.

About you

You will have:

- A PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Medical Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant.
- Advanced skills in cell and molecular biology techniques.
- Strong understanding of cancer precision medicine and tumour biology.
- Experience with immune assays and immune profiling approaches.
- Experience working with patient-derived tumour models or relevant cancer models.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex biological data.
- Strong scientific communication and collaboration skills.
