Disability and Injury Services has been proudly supporting NDIS participants across South East Queensland for over a decade. We’re now expanding our team of Home Care Workers to meet growing demand. If you’re passionate, reliable, and person-centred, we’d love to hear from you.
About You
- Are compassionate, patient, and genuinely person-centred
- Are excellent listeners and take time to understand each participants individual needs and preferences
- Are non-judgemental, respectful, and maintain professional boundaries
- Can support participants without imposing their own personal beliefs, opinions or values
- Have clear spoken and written English to ensure effective communication, particularly with participants who have hearing impairemtn or communication difficulties
- Are observant, reliable and able to communicate important information accurately with participants families and the wider support team
- Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
About the Role
You’ll provide tailored assistance to individuals living with disability to help them achieve their goals and maintain independence.
Support includes:
- Community access (shopping, outings, exercise, social visits)
- MALE CARER PREFERRED: This is due to participant preference and personal care requirements (personal hygiene assistance)
- Domestic assistance (cooking, light cleaning, laundry)
- Medication assistance and home therapy support
- Skill development and social engagement
- Some manual handling required
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking people with the following essential attributes:
- Valid QLD Driver’s Licence & reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation and Infection Control Training
- Strong communication, literacy, and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, empathy, and professionalism
- Available to participate in afternoon shifts
We also value:
- Prior experience supporting NDIS participants
- A outstanding sense of humour and rapport-building ability
- Tech proficiency for shift documentation and communication
