The Role

We are currently seeking a NSW Workers Compensation Technical & Compliance Manager to join the team at our office in Bella Vista NSW. Applicants able to work in our office in the Melbourne CBD will also be considered.

We are open to applications from people wanting to work part-time.

They will work closely with our Operations Manager to support our self insured clients and guide our case management team to achieve excellent claims management outcomes, including:

- Provision of guidance to case managers and clients on claims management processes, legislative requirements and SOP expectations
- Assistance with drafting of dispute, suspension and WCD notices
- Reviewing disputes and issuing 287A decision notices
- Conducting strategic reviews with case managers at key claim milestones
- Attend meetings with clients to provide senior support to case managers
- Investigating and coordinating responses to IRO complaints
- Overseeing legal claims,



including liaison with solicitors and attendance at PIC where appropriate
- Preparing claim notifications and updates for XOL insurers
- Conducting initial compliance checks on claims in their 4th week and coaching Case Managers on gaps identified
- Coordination and tracking of client audit programs and corrective action plans
- Assist with review of standard forms, letters and policies to ensure they remain current and appropriate
- Coordination of regular education sessions

Skills and experience

Candidates will require:

- Minimum 7 years’ experience in workers compensation including complex claims management
- Comprehensive understanding of NSW workers compensation legislation, standards of practice and end-to-end claims management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and at different levels within an organisation
- The ability to work autonomously and within a team
- The ability to multi-task and work to deadlines, with excellent time management skills
- A high level of attention to detail
- The ability to work across multiple IT platforms
- Experience in self-insurance or the health/rehabilitation sectors is appreciated but not essential.
