Floor Manager - Operating Theatres (Scrub / Scout)

An exciting prospect exists for a highly motivated and experienced Floor Manager to join our Perioperative Services team on a permanent full time basis. Candidates will be required to work on a rotating roster, AM / PM shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a multidisciplinary team across daily theatre floor operations.

Coordinate theatre workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.

Provide operational oversight of theatre lists, staffing allocation and patient flow.

Provide clinical meal relief across theatre areas while maintaining operational oversight.

Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Respond promptly to clinical and operational issues, escalating where appropriate.

Support the coordination of staffing levels and skill mix throughout the shift.

Promote effective communication and collaboration between surgeons, anaesthetists and the perioperative team.

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards and infection prevention requirements.

Foster a positive, collaborative and safety-focused team culture.

About You

Minimum 5 years' perioperative nursing experience

Must be scrub/scout trained as the work will be focused on our operating theatres,



including specialty areas such as ortho, endoscopy, opthamology, general and bariatrics

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

Previous experience in a theatre leadership, coordinator or floor management role is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple theatre lists in a fast-paced environment.

Strong clinical judgement, communication and organisational skills.

Ability to mentor and support team members.

Calm, adaptable and able to prioritise under pressure.

Available to work rotating morning and afternoon shifts.

This hands-on leadership role combines operational coordination of the theatre floor with the provision of clinical meal relief across the perioperative department. The successful candidate will be available to work both morning and afternoon shifts to support the changing demands of the operating theatre.
