Albert Smith Signs is looking for a Design & Estimating Centre Manager to take ownership of our design and estimating function from end to end. You'll be the person who keeps quotes, designs, production drawings, and order releases moving and the critical link between what Sales sells and what Production can actually build.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll manage a Design Lead and a team of design/estimating staff, but you'll also stay close to the technical detail, reviewing drawings, sense-checking quotes, and making sure engineering requirements are right before work hits the shop floor.

What You'll Do

- Coordinate all design and estimating activity across the centre
- Own the quoting process from enquiry to accurate, on-time quote
- Oversee design work and production drawings, ensuring engineering requirements are correctly specified
- Manage new order releases into production
- Act as the key liaison between Sales and Production - translating what's promised into what's buildable
- Lead, coach, and develop your design and estimating team
- Report directly to the Managing Director on centre performance

What We're Looking For

- Solid SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD)



skills - you can review and interrogate drawings, not just sign off on them
- A manufacturing background - you understand what happens on the shop floor, not just in the design office
- IT-savvy - comfortable with quoting, drawing management, and order-tracking systems
- Proven management experience - you've led a design or technical team before
- Excellent communication skills - you can hold your own between Sales, Production, and senior leadership
- Sharp attention to detail, especially when it comes to releasing new orders

You might be a senior design engineer or estimating manager who's grown into people leadership - someone who's worked both sides of a manufacturing business, from CAD and drawings through to quoting and commercial delivery.
