We're looking for an experienced Functions Manager to lead our growing events and functions department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality qualified who thrives on building client relationships, coordinating exceptional events and delivering flawless execution. You'll oversee every stage of the event journey, working closely with clients, suppliers and our operational teams to ensure every function exceeds expectations.

About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll take ownership of the venue's functions and events, driving revenue while ensuring every event reflects the premium standards Ember & Ash is known for.

As the primary contact for clients, you'll guide them from their initial enquiry through to the successful delivery of their event, creating a seamless and memorable experience every step of the way.

You’ll work collaboratively with our restaurant, rooftop, kitchen and bar teams to ensure every detail is planned, communicated and executed to perfection.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all function and event enquiries from initial contact through to post-event follow-up.

Conduct venue inspections and build strong relationships with prospective clients.

Prepare proposals, quotations, contracts and event documentation.

Coordinate wedding events, corporate functions, birthdays, product launches, networking events,



private dining experiences and exclusive celebrations.

Work closely with the culinary, beverage and operations teams to develop tailored event experiences.

Maintain detailed event run sheets and ensure all departments are fully briefed.

Oversee event execution to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.

Build relationships with corporate clients, event planners and local businesses to generate new opportunities.

Drive function sales and achieve revenue targets through proactive business development.

Maintain accurate event records and reporting within booking systems.

Assist with marketing initiatives, venue showcases and promotional events.

Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the client experience.

About You:

We're looking for an experienced hospitality and events professional who understands that exceptional events begin long before guests arrive.

You’ll be highly organised, commercially minded and passionate about creating memorable experiences while building lasting client relationships.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Functions Manager, Events Manager or Senior Events Coordinator within premium hospitality.

Experience managing wedding events, corporate events and high-end private functions.





Exceptional organisational and time management skills.

Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.

Strong sales experience with a proven ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.

Confidence managing multiple events simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Experience working closely with operational teams to deliver seamless event execution.

Strong administrative skills with experience using venue management or reservation systems.
