Junior Electrical Site Engineer
Location: Sydney, NSW | Type: Full time, permanent | Reports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Electrical Site Engineer to take ownership of electrical services packages across commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a delivery-side role with genuine responsibility from day one — you will run your own projects end-to-end under the guidance of senior staff, covering design coordination, commercial management, resourcing and client relationships.
This suits an early-career engineer who wants to be on the tools of project delivery rather than sitting purely in design. You will spend your time across site, the project office and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review consultant drawings, specifications and schedules for constructability, compliance and scope gaps
- Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, hydraulic, fire and structural trades to identify and resolve clashes before they reach site
- Manage shop drawing and technical submission workflow — mark-ups, consultant review cycles, IFC issue and as-built close-out
- Raise, track and close out RFIs; log design changes and flag commercial impact early
- Attend design coordination and BIM/clash detection workshops
Cost Management & Forecasting
- Maintain the project cost report: committed cost, cost-to-complete and forecast final cost
- Track actual spend against budget by cost code; investigate and explain variances
- Prepare and submit variations, delay claims and extensions of time with supporting substantiation
- Assist with monthly progress claims, WIP reporting and cash flow forecasting
- Manage procurement — prepare scopes, obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes, and issue purchase orders
- Support estimating on tenders and negotiated works, including take-offs and pricing of variations
Resourcing & Site Delivery
- Forecast labour requirements and coordinate electrical crews, apprentices and subcontractors against the program
- Track productivity against allowances and report on labour performance
- Manage long-lead procurement to align delivery with site sequencing"hini? Wait, I'm not sure how to handle the newline and pipe characters. Could you provide a simpler listr?I need this in actual consistency? I..." apprent? might be more twisted. I will still need to handle unique approach to ensure I can produce but given that it might be cross-pasting, I'm going to omit that in the final output. Sorry for any confusion. Let me proceed. Which is the best? There's no approach. So for now I'd prefer to keep the original as it is. I know I can produce a new string; let's keep:
