About the role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join Reliable Home Care, based in our Coolangatta office. This position is available full-time, with part-time arrangements considered for the right candidate.
This is a key leadership role that will play a pivotal part in the financial health, operational performance, and continued growth of our organisation. As Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, compliance, payroll oversight, and financial governance. You will provide strategic financial advice to the leadership team, ensuring our financial systems, processes, and reporting support informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Beyond the numbers, you'll lead and mentor members of the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all financial processes.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management reports.
Develop, monitor, and manage organisational budgets and financial forecasts, providing meaningful analysis of variances and recommendations for improvement.
Deliver financial planning and analysis that supports strategic decision-making, organisational growth, and long-term sustainability.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance to ensure the organisation remains financially strong and well-positioned for growth.
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements, statutory obligations, and aged care funding and reporting requirements where applicable.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial systems, internal controls, and business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and support organisational growth.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to improve finance operations and reporting, championing innovation across the organisation.
Provide strategic financial advice and insights to the executive team to support informed business decisions.
Prepare information for Board reporting and work closely with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other professional advisors.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performing culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Collaborate with leaders across the organisation to provide financial guidance that supports quality service delivery and operational excellence.
Contribute as a member of the leadership team by supporting organisational planning, business improvement initiatives, and strategic projects.
What we're looking for
CPA, CA,
or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or senior finance leadership role.
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insights and strategic recommendations.
Experience leading and developing finance teams, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
A growth mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and finding smarter ways of working.
Highly proficient with financial management systems, cloud-based accounting software, and Microsoft Excel, with strong digital literacy and confidence adopting new technologies.
Experience implementing or improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
High levels of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement.
The ability to work autonomously while partnering effectively with leaders across the organisation.
Demonstrated experience in the aged care sector, with a strong understanding of aged care funding, regulatory requirements, and the financial complexities of aged care service delivery, highly considered.
