Airfreight Operations Specialist Sydney | Permanent Full-Time Excellent Salary Package | Free On-Site Parking | Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm)
Our client is a well-established and respected international freight forwarding and logistics provider with a global network of agents across the world. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced Airfreight Operations Specialist to join their Sydney team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the Australian Airfreight Import & Export function, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and outstanding customer service. You will work closely with airlines, agents, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth movement of international freight while identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain best practice across the Airfreight Operations department to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence.
- Monitor compliance with international airfreight regulations and statutory requirements.
- Achieve and support KPI targets relating to volume, forecasting, client performance and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts while supporting new business development initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, overseas agents,
customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate job costing, invoicing and profitability reviews through timely job completion.
- Support the sales team by providing competitive pricing and prompt responses to customer enquiries.
- Maintain airfreight rate schedules and implement auto-rating where possible for both international and domestic shipments.
- Liaise with carriers, terminals and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth operational performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within the Australian international freight forwarding industry.
- Strong working knowledge of EDI CargoWise.
- Solid understanding of international airfreight regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
