Biodiversity Australia is an Environmental Consultancy which brings exciting opportunities in Fire Ant Eradication within the Southeast Queensland region.
About the opportunity
We are currently recruiting Biosecurity Team Members to join the Fire Ant Eradication Unit across Southeast Queensland. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to build their skills and contribute to the National Fire Ant Eradication Program.
Successful applicants will support important biosecurity operations, including surveillance, baiting, field monitoring, and assisting with on-ground project activities. You will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience within the biosecurity sector while working alongside an experienced team.
We are looking for motivated individuals with a robust work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in environmental or field-based work.
Previous fire ant experience is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
Team Member requires the following:
- ACDC/Commercial Operators Licence -Desirable but not necessary
- Be able to work in a team environment.
- Be physically fit as this role requires substantial walking through challenging terrain
- Ability to pass national police checks
- Experience with ATV's & towing trailers -Desirable but not necessary
- Pest Management Licence -Desirable but not necessary.
- Experience with Fire Ant Eradication programs
Security Clearance
You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level. This will include a National Police Check. Fulltime/Casual Positions Available.
