Domestic Violence Resource Service – Mackay QLD

The High Risk Team (HRT) Case Manager manages client contact, threat assessments, and safety planning, provides information and referrals, liaises on safety plans, engages in community development, maintains partnerships, supports HRT meetings, ensures data entry, and assists in policy development. They contribute to long-term planning for HRT within Mackay Women’s Services, handle clerical tasks, and offer secretariat support for HRT meetings.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of long-term planning and priorities for Mackay Women’s Services.

Contacting clients referred to HRT in a timely manner, conducting a threat assessment to ascertain their current risk status and undertaking safety planning to address a client’s immediate safety needs.

Provide relevant information and make warm referrals to a range of service providers to assist clients with their ongoing needs.

Liaise with clients in relation to safety management plans developed at HRT and/or support provided or arranged by HRT.

Engage in community development activities.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key HRT partners including Queensland Police and referral agencies, to facilitate client access to those agencies and services.

Provide secretariat and minute-taking support where required including that of the integrated service team and other organisational meetings. This will include thepreparation and distribution of meeting material to all relevant stakeholder in a timely and accurate manner.

Perform word processing, photocopying, file management, and clerical tasks to support HRT functions, including the development and administering of HRT policies, systems and processes.

Qualifications and Knowledge -Essential

Degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline, and registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with appropriate skilled representative/governing body (i.e.,



AHPRA; AASW) - or- Diploma of Counselling with registration / membership (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)

Applied knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, specifically Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to work as an effective team member in a supportive manner

Current Driver’s License

Working with Children Check (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.

Current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.

Qualifications and Knowledge – Desirable

Knowledge and understanding of the Dynamics 365, complexities and legal and social welfare consequences of Domestic and Family Violence.

A good understanding of trauma theory, to inform assessment and decision making.
