The Opportunity

Due to movement in the team, we are inviting applications from experienced Payroll Officers to join our team in North Fremantle. This opportunity is available on a part time (core hours Mon-Wed & Fri) or full time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Finance & HR Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll while ensuring compliance with Australian legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Process fortnightly payroll for over 400 employees across multiple entities using Pay Global

- Maintain employee records within Definitiv

- Ensure accuracy of payroll records for new hires, pay changes and terminations

- Review timesheets and reconcile payroll discrepancies in a timely manner

- Process superannuation, payroll tax and statutory reporting

- Interpret and apply relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements

- Manage leave accruals, workers' compensation and long service leave entitlements

- Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations and statutory reporting





- Assist with end-of-financial-year payroll activities

- Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers

- Support payroll system improvements and maintain payroll procedures

- Work collaboratively with Finance, HR and operational teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have

- Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in an end-to-end payroll position

- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements

- Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements

- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- A high level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Flexible approach to work

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Experience using PayGlobal payroll software

- Experience using Access Definitiv or similar payroll systems

- Experience using Onsite Personnel Management System (OPMS)

- Experience within the marine, construction, engineering or resources industries
