The Opportunity

We're a well-established civil contractor with a strong pipeline of industrial, infrastructure and minor works projects across the Gladstone region. We're looking for an experienced Civil Construction Leading Hand to support our Supervisors in delivering quality projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working alongside the crew while taking responsibility for coordinating daily activities on site.

This is a residential Gladstone-based role — go home to your family every night while working on some of the region's most significant civil projects.

What You'll Be Doing

- Supporting the Site Supervisor with the day-to-day coordination of site operations across civil construction works including earthworks, pipework, pump stations and drainage.
- Leading by example and working alongside crews to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinating daily tasks, labour, plant and materials to keep projects on schedule.
- Assisting with the supervision and mentoring of crews of up to 25 personnel.
- Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Communicating effectively with Supervisors, Project Managers, subcontractors and clients.
- Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with SWMS, permits and company procedures.
- Assisting with site inspections, daily pre-starts, reporting and quality documentation.

What You'll Bring





- Demonstrated experience as a Civil Construction Leading Hand or a senior civil operator or Tradesperson looking to step into a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods including earthworks, pipework, pipelines, pump stations and drainage.
- Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate daily works and maintain productivity.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
- Plant operating tickets, HR Licence or Cert IV in Civil Construction will be highly regarded but are not essential.
