About the Opportunity
As the General Manager Aged & Community Care, you will provide strategic direction and leadership for the planning and delivery of aged and community services across MLHD, ensuring positive outcomes for clients and their families. You will lead the development and implementation of strategies and practices that ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and all other legal and contractual requirements for community based services.
You will work in partnership with the Aged Care team, Clinical Operations, other clinical streams and the Clinical Governance Unit for the planning and delivery of Aged Care services, overseeing quality and governance in the community. You will also partner with Community Care teams including Community Nursing, Palliative Care, Integrated Care and Child & Family services, to ensure contemporary Models of Care are in place and regularly reviewed.
As the General Manager Aged & Community Care, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-level planning and operational advice to the Executive Director Service Delivery
- Leading the development and overseeing performance of aged care, community (including community care, palliative care and child and family) services to support organisational objectives
- Leading the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Commonwealth Home Care Standards
- Engaging with consumers and their families to promote cooperative, person-centred outcomes for older people
- Leading the development of Aged Care and community focused policy and procedures to strengthen quality and governance across the District

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in a health-related field (e.g. nursing, allied health, medical)
- High-level understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant Commonwealth and NSW Ministry of Health policy and legislation, including the Aged Care Act
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including consumers, clinicians and managers
- A proven ability to lead and manage organisational change and quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated experience establishing and managing complex projects and reporting against performance measures
- Demonstrated experience in high-level leadership and strategic development of service delivery within a health setting
You will also need to meet the following essential criteria:
- National Police Check
- Aged Care Police Check
- Current Driver's Licence
