The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join a short-term engagement based in Newcastle, covering a period from 29 September to 17 October.
In this role, you’ll lead and manage complex commercial, corporate, and property law matters, spanning both advisory and transactional work. You’ll advise clients on M&A;, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, corporate governance, shareholding structures, funding arrangements, and a range of commercial contracts.
You’ll also work closely with clients on corporate restructures, regulatory compliance, and shareholder matters, as well as draft, review,
and negotiate complex commercial agreements and transaction documents. This is a hands‑on opportunity to step into a high‑impact role within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
Key Requirements:
Qualified lawyer with solid experience in commercial, corporate, and/or property law
Demonstrated experience leading complex advisory and transactional matters
Strong background in M&A;, joint ventures, and commercial contracting
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements
Experience advising on corporate governance, restructures, and regulatory compliance
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and internal teams
Ability to step into a role quickly and operate autonomously in a fast‑paced environment
Availability for the full contract period (29 September – 17 October) and ability to be based in Newcastle
