We are looking for two Rig Geologists to join a client's exploration and resource definition drilling program in North West Queensland. This is a hands on, rig side role on an established copper project in the Mount Isa Inlier. Junior through to experienced Geologists are welcome to apply.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will be responsible for logging, sampling and data capture at the rig, and for keeping drilling activity running safely and efficiently alongside the drill crew. The program is predominantly RC, with some diamond drilling expected. You will work closely with the site geology team, the drilling contractor and the client's technical group to deliver accurate and reliable geological data.

In this role you will:

- Log RC chips at the rig, capturing lithology, alteration, structure and mineralisation.

- Log diamond core as required across the program.

- Manage sampling, sample dispatch and QA/QC to program standard.

- Coordinate day to day with the drilling contractor and monitor rig activity.

- Maintain daily records, drill reports and database entry.





- Complete downhole surveys, collar pickups and general field support tasks.

- Operate pXRF and record results.

- Participate in risk assessments, JHAs and pre-start meetings.

The role is site based in North West Queensland on a 16/12 roster. We offer FIFO from any major Queensland city or DIDO for anyone living locally. Accommodation is in a remote exploration camp, in caravans, with camp facilities. This is not a mine site village. All travel time and costs, along with accommodation and meals, are covered, so you are not out of pocket for expenses, alongside ROCKFORCE's industry leading remuneration.

This is a 4 month contract. Immediate start available.

To Be Considered You Must Meet the Following Criteria

- A Bachelor of Science in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.

- Hard rock logging experience, or a recent graduate with site based field experience.

- Current C Class manual driver's licence.

- 4WD competency.

- Able to work a 16/12 roster, site based in a remote exploration camp in North West Queensland.

- Physically fit for field work, including long days on your feet in heat and handling sample bags.

- Working rights in Australia.

- An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.

Copper or IOCG experience, a Mount Isa Inlier background, oxide copper recognition, pXRF exposure, current First Aid, and familiarity with logging databases (Datashed, acQuire, MX Deposit or similar) are highly regarded.
