The Kypreos Group which includes Nace Civil Engineering has operated within the Civil Construction industry for over 50 years and is still owned and operated by the founding family members.
We are seeking an experienced Transport Allocator to coordinate the daily operation of our heavy vehicle fleet across metropolitan and regional NSW.
This role is responsible for allocating vehicles and drivers while ensuring transport operations comply with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations and company compliance requirements.
We are looking for someone who understands that transport allocation is more than scheduling deliveries. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of fatigue management, vehicle compliance, driver management and operational planning, and be able to make informed decisions that maintain both operational efficiency and legal compliance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will coordinate the daily movement of our heavy vehicle fleet while ensuring every transport task is completed safely, legally and efficiently.
You will work closely with drivers, supervisors, production teams and customers to ensure transport operations meet business requirements without compromising compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Allocate heavy vehicle movements to support multiple business divisions.
Monitor driver hours, fatigue compliance and work diary requirements.
Ensure transport activities comply with the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
Verify vehicle availability, maintenance status and defect management before dispatch.
Coordinate drivers to maximise fleet utilisation while maintaining legal compliance.
Identify and manage transport risks before vehicles leave the depot.
Monitor vehicle locations and adjust schedules to respond to operational changes.
Liaise with asphalt plants,
project teams, workshops and customers regarding delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate transport documentation and compliance records.
Escalate compliance concerns and unsafe practices immediately.
Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions where required.
Build positive working relationships with drivers through proactive communication, coaching and support.
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
Previous experience allocating heavy vehicles in a civil construction, asphalt, quarry, bulk haulage or transport environment.
Strong working knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
Demonstrated understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
Experience managing driver fatigue, scheduling and compliance.
Understanding of NHVAS requirements and heavy vehicle maintenance processes.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing operational priorities.
Robust computer skills and experience using transport management systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build respectful relationships with drivers and operational teams.
Highly Regarded
Experience within asphalt, construction or bulk haulage operations.
Knowledge of PBS vehicles and heavy combinations.
Experience working within NHVAS accredited operations.
Understanding of mass management, load restraint and vehicle standards.
Certificate IV in Logistics, Transport or similar qualification.
