With 200 years of history, HarperCollins Publishers is the second largest general books publisher in the world. Proudly based in Moss Vale, our Distribution Centre is primarily responsible for the distribution of books across Australia and New Zealand.
We are on the hunt for a Team Leader who will be responsible for coordinating Warehouse Operatives and responsible for daily management of employees on the PM shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm). This role is on a 12m maternity leave basis.
Activities of this role include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for leading the team and understanding technical aspects of the departments within the warehouse, such as Stock Movement, Backlist picking, QA, Dispatch, Returns
- Ensure employees work in an efficient and appropriate manner following applicable SOPs and protected work practices.
- Consistently apply all applicable SOPs for each department, ensuring they are readily available to all employees and effectively followed. Work with the management team to develop new SOPs when required.
Administration
- Maintain and complete operational statistical reports.
Training & Employee Management
- Ensure all employees within the department are provided with technical training.
- Hold regular team briefings to communicate relevant information to your team.
- Coach, develop and motivate your team to perform to their potential.
- Provide regular feedback to your team members around their work performance.
- Will be required to attend coaching and counselling sessions with team members as and when required.
- Understanding of the Collective Agreement governing Warehouse Operatives and ability to interpret and apply principals.

- Previous experience supervising/managing small teams
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting statistical reports

- Demonstrated initiative and confidence

- Flexible and responsive to change
