Carborough Downs underground Bord and Pillar mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, approximately 30km north-east of Moranbah and 160km from Mackay and forms part of the broader Argo Complex. This integrated mining complex includes the Ironbark Longwall Mine and Broadlea Open Cut, as well as a centralised Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP), where collaboration between our sites and teams is key to delivering secure and efficient outcomes.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in driving high standards of environmental performance at our Bord and Pillar underground operation. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and managing environmental risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading the implementation and continual improvement of environmental programs, systems, and initiatives.

- Drive site environmental objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Identify environmental risks and ensure effective control measures.
- Ensure timely completion of internal and external reporting.
- Monitor compliance and lead preventative and corrective actions.
- Conduct incident investigations and support external incident reviews.
- Manage environmental contractors, consultants, and budgets.
- Deliver environmental training and awareness programs.




- Participate in audits, reviews, and assurance activities.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Having recent demonstrated experience working within the coal mining sector is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance, and best practice management systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental incidents, reporting, and corrective action processes.
- A positive can-do attitude with a practical approach to achieving and improving environmental performance.
