As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role offers broad exposure across construction, development projects, joint ventures, corporate reporting and day-to-day finance operations.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Financial Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, robust controls and statutory compliance. This is a hands‑on role with broad exposure across month-end close, reconciliations, tax compliance, general ledger integrity, systems and reporting. It is an excellent chance to make a visible impact in a growing business while helping strengthen the finance function and improve the way we work.
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts
- Complete month‑end and year‑end close procedures, including accruals and prepayments
- Prepare balance sheet and inter‑company reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of income tax returns and FBT returns
- Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns
- Support compliance across accounting standards, taxation, payroll, payroll tax, superannuation, workers compensation and AUSTRAC requirements
- Document accounting policies, internal controls and standard operating procedures
- Assist with group‑wide reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Manage and optimise ERP systems
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor of Business in Accounting
- CA or CPA qualification
- 2-4 years of proven financial accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation compliance
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience using Xero and Procore
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Background in property development, construction or a closely aligned sector is essential
- Australian citizenship is required for this position
