Calvary Christian College Springwood and Carbrook – Carbrook QLD

Our College is seeking expressions of interest for a qualified and experienced peripatetic instrumental music tutor to provide one on one (paid by parents directly to the instructor) and group lessons (paid by the College) to students. It is expected that tutors will run their private lessons with students as an independent business. Conducting of Percussion Ensembles is also a requirement of this position.

About you

You are passionate about engaging in an authentic Christian community.

You have a track record of developing high performing young musicians.

You are an active listener who engages with students, staff and parents with a growth mindset and in a respectful manner.

You have experience training students in group (small and large) settings.

You have the skill and confidence to manage student behaviour.

You are skilled at differentiating your training to meet the needs of students.

You are an experienced business person who is capable of ensuring that your business provides a high quality service to the College. You will be required to arrange lessons (including payment) directly with parents as well as have your own ABN, public liability and professional indemnity insurance and working with children blue card.

You are able to work in a team environment and have a willingness to support and promote the Calvary Performing Arts program within the school.





You will not represent yourself as an employee of the College whilst undertaking private tutoring.

Responsibilities

Deliver an exciting educational program whilst maintaining student engagement.

Monitor and report on student achievement as required.

Where requested, participate in tutoring students.

Participate in staff devotions and College worship sessions.

Required

- Experience in providing one on one and small group tutorial lessons
- Experience in conducting ensembles and/or leading groups of students
- Current performance experience on Orchestral Percussion.

This role is based across our Springwood and Carbrook Campuses.
