The Administration Officer – Homelessness Hub is an important member of the Homelessness Hub team and is responsible for providing qualified administrative assistance to the Homelessness Hub operational area as required. You will contribute to the efficient running of office(s) and undertake diverse tasks including reception services (welcoming visitors, answering and directing incoming calls, dealing with enquiries and triaging enquiries from the people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness), ordering supplies, administrative support to the Homelessness Hub team and assisting with organisational activities as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide a friendly and efficient reception service for incoming calls to the Homeless Hub, connect people to the relevant service, respond to walk-in enquiries from the public and welcome visitors.
- Triage enquiries and book appointments for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness at the Homeless Hub
- Provide general information regarding Housing and Homelessness services
- Keep reception in good order and assist with equipment and office audits.
- Monitor the Homelessness Hub administration inbox, respond in a timely manner and direct matters to relevant staff and ensure contentious or complex matters are escalated to Senior staff as required.
- Provide efficient day to day administrative assistance to the Homeless Hub team
- Undertake general administrative duties including but not limited to maintaining the reception log, monitoring stock and ordering office supplies, data entry and assisting with archiving of records.
- Maintain confidentiality (client, staff and organisation) and ensure sensitive matters are treated with respect and in line with privacy requirements and delegations.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Prior experience in community services, customer service, reception and general administration.
- Sound oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) skills and ability to quickly learn new systems.




- Demonstrated ability to maintain administrative records and an aptitude for detail.
- Track record of positive contribution to Teams and ability to navigate workplace communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Understanding of community services sector and related legislation, regulatory environment and service standards.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, reconciliation and closing the gap objectives and experience working with First Nations people, organisation’s communities.

What we need from you

- Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check
- Blue Card (QLD working with children card)
- QLD drivers’ licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
- Out of hours work may be required from time to time
- Ability (and willingness) to undertake local area / regional travel
