About the Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial management, ensuring robust financial governance, legislative compliance, and the effective oversight of NDIS funding and SIL financial performance.
Working closely with the Executive Team, our Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting continued growth by providing strategic financial leadership, strengthening financial systems and processes, and partnering with leaders across the organisation to enable informed, data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, payroll oversight, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger management.
- Prepare accurate monthly management reports, financial statements, and financial models for annual budgeting and cash flow.
- Monitor organisational financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to support sustainable growth.
- Oversee financial management of NDIS funding, including SIL, Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) where applicable, and other disability support programs.
- Ensure accurate claiming, reconciliation, and reporting of NDIS revenue.
- Monitor service profitability, occupancy levels, participant funding utilisation,
and operational costs across SIL homes and programs.
- Develop financial models to support pricing, business development, and service expansion.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements, Fair Work obligations, and relevant NDIS financial requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants, insurance agencies, banks, and regulatory bodies including the ATO and OSR and other external parties as required.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, policies, and risk management practices.
- Partner with operational leaders to improve financial literacy, budgeting, and commercial decision-making.
- Lead and mentor finance team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and increase operational efficiency.
About You
You are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and a genuine commitment to working for a company improving outcomes for people living with disability.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience within the NDIS, disability, aged care, health, or community services sector (desirable)
- Strong understanding of NDIS funding arrangements, SIL funding models, and financial compliance requirements (desirable)
- Experience preparing budgets, financial forecasts, board reports, and management reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current national police check and NDIS worker screening check (or wiling to obtain)
