Job Description

An orchard in the Huon Valley, southern Tasmania requires 80 seasonal Horticulture labourers to pick cherries apples and other fruits. Also pruning fruit trees and thinning apples. The 6-9 months of work will begin at the end of November 2026.

A minimum of 30 hours a week work will be provided. Successful candidates will be offered Permanent Part-time employment under the Horticulture Award 2020.

Employment will be paid at an hourly rate with some piecework during harvest work. There will be the potential to upskill or provide training for applicants.

Applicants need to be:

- Fit and healthy and agile-able to bend, crouch and kneel for extended periods of time
- Able to tolerate working in hot, windy,



cold or wet weather and in dirty and muddy conditions
- Able to pass a colour blindness test as accuracy in fruit picking selection is critical

Be reliable and committed to working for the whole 6-9 month period. Required to start between 7-8 am, up to 6 days a week. Able to work alone or in a team.

Able to learn recent skills quickly. Drug and alcohol testing maybe conducted at any time during work hours. Late applications will not be accepted and only successful applicants will be contacted.
