The Role This is a hands-on, career-building opportunity to support the establishment and operation of a new potato cropping enterprise near Katherine. Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll play a key role in crop production, machinery operation, leading field activities, and assisting with the future development of the farm with a clear succession path to lead the site in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and delivering crop production plans
- Support crop planting, harvesting, and irrigation activities
- Operate and maintain farm equipment, irrigation systems and infrastructure
- Supervise future staff and contribute to building a positive team culture
- Ensure compliance with relevant produce quality standards and food safety
- Lead farming operations in the Farm Manager's absence

Key criteria includes:
- Demonstrated cropping experience
- Practical knowledge of irrigation systems, farm machinery and maintenance
- ChemCert, forklift, and experience with GPS systems (advantageous, though not essential)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously
