About the Role

MAYE is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Product Developer to join our growing team based in Newtown, Sydney. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for design, premium fabrics and garment quality, a genuine love of product, and a solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics and trims.

Working closely with the Creative Director and Head of Product, you will play a key role in bringing new product concepts to life, ensuring each style is developed in line with the MAYE brand, customer and quality standards. You will manage the development process from initial concept through to sample approval, working collaboratively with our garment tech team, production manager and factories to deliver beautifully executed product.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Creative Director and Head of Product to continually develop current product ideas aligned with the MAYE brand and customer
- Create and manage initial tech packs, including all development requirements - trim and fabric information, colour and print information, construction details and CADs when required
- Partner with the garment tech team to ensure garment construction and fit are maintained throughout development




- Request initial strike-offs, lab dips, knit downs and print placement submissions from factories
- Manage timeline of sample development and print strike-off, keeping trackers up to date alongside our Production Manager
- Manage development sample costings and support costing negotiations
- Present products in buy meetings to Creative Director and Head of Product and collaborate on buying decisions
- Approve final lab dips, strike-offs and trims following order placement
- Communicate daily with factories throughout the sample development process
- Maintain sample racks, print strike-off racks and fabric drawers in an organised and efficient manner

About You

- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with experience in development for a 40+ customer
- Strong Adobe Suite skills, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- A genuine passion for design, fashion and style
- Sound knowledge of garment construction, fabrications and trims
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Proven experience managing product development timelines
- Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build robust relationships and liaise effectively with offshore suppliers
- Able to work autonomously while also contributing positively to a team
