About The Role

Merri-bek City Council is offering a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Patrol Truck Operator. This position will form part of the essential team of workers who support the Street Cleansing Unit within Merri-bek City Council. Your primary role will be working on the regular Patrol Crew attending to the illegally dumped rubbish, you will also have opportunity to work across a range of services, with the opportunity for additional training. This position reports to the Team Leader Response Service. This position is only being advertised internally,



position will be open for one week only.

The successful candidate will work in accordance with developed rosters and work practices in which starting times may vary from 3:30am to 7.30 am, regular Patrol times are 6am to 2.30pm and includes:

General cleaning throughout the municipality including but not limited to Streets, Car parks, Right of Ways, Parks and reserves. Removal of Dumped Rubbish, Litter, Dead animals, Sharps (syringes). Sweeping of Shopping/activity Centres, residential streets, bus shelters, and Footpaths by both mechanical and manual means and Litter Bin Collection.

Patrol Truck Operator may be able to complete training in the use of the Street Sweepers, Footpath Sweeper, Combo Truck, Pits and Drain Cleaning, as well as other identified training within the unit. Participate in regular overtime to service the needs of the Saturday morning and Sunday morning programs.

To be successful in this position you must be someone who enjoys contact with the community and working within a dynamic team to ensure Councils Street Cleansing services are delivered to a top standard.

Skills And Experience Require To Perform The Role

- A current Victorian Drivers Licence with Medium Rigid Endorsement,
- Demonstrated experience in driving trucks in built up areas and operating a range of small plant and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing a high standard of street cleansing and / or related maintenance programs
