Projects Engineer - Commercial HVAC

Competitive Salary Package: $120,000 - $150,000 + Super

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Projects Engineer - Commercial HVAC to join a growing mechanical services team delivering high-quality HVAC solutions across major commercial projects in NSW.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer with strong technical capability and project delivery experience to work on complex commercial HVAC installations, including large-scale developments, high-rise buildings, hospitals, data centres, and major infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and project handover while working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the delivery of commercial HVAC projects from design through to completion.
- Coordinate mechanical services installation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Review and interpret HVAC designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with consultants, builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Assist with project planning, programming, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Manage RFIs, variations, technical queries, and design coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC requirements, WHS regulations, and project specifications.
- Support commissioning, testing, balancing, and practical completion activities.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

About You





To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience delivering commercial HVAC/mechanical services projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems including:
- Chilled water systems
- VRF/VRV systems
- Air handling units (AHUs)
- Mechanical ventilation
- Building management systems (BMS)
- Hydronic systems

- Experience working with Tier 1 or 2 builders, contractors, consultants, or mechanical subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of project documentation, drawings, and construction processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

- Government infrastructure projects

Salary & Advantages

- Projects Engineer: $110,000 - $135,000 + Super
- Senior Projects Engineer: $135,000 - $150,000 + Super
- Company vehicle/allowance may be available depending on experience
- Career progression into Project Manager roles
