Valley Workshop is a Tasmanian design and construction company located in Westbury TAS 7303 and specialising in architecturally designed, sustainable prefabricated homes and modular buildings. The business delivers energy-efficient timber buildings using innovative construction systems, from concept design through to project completion.

Valley Workshop is now looking for an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join their team.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

- Assist Architects, Construction Managers and project teams with the planning, coordination and documentation of prefabricated residential and modular building projects.
- Interpret architectural drawings, engineering details, planning requirements, the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and relevant local authority regulations.
- Prepare preliminary sketches, detailed working drawings, construction documentation and technical specifications using computer-aided design (CAD/BIM) software.
- Update, revise and maintain architectural drawings, layouts and documentation to reflect design changes, consultant input and client requirements throughout each project.
- Coordinate drawing packages and project documentation with architects, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers and construction personnel to support productive project delivery.
- Inspect drawings, construction details and project documentation to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, Australian Standards and company quality expectations.
- Calculate material quantities, prepare take-offs,



assist with project cost estimates and contribute to construction scheduling and delivery timeframes.
- Collect and verify site measurements, survey information and other technical data required for accurate building design, drafting and prefabrication.
- Perform routine drafting calculations, prepare layouts and compile technical data to support design development, fabrication processes and construction activities.
- Liaise with internal teams and external consultants to resolve technical drafting issues and ensure accurate, coordinated documentation is delivered on schedule.

About you:

- At least 1 year of experience as an Architectural Draftsperson;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other CAD/BIM software to prepare accurate architectural drawings, construction documentation and technical plans.
- Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, planning requirements and residential construction methods, particularly for prefabricated and modular buildings.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well-developed analytical and mathematical skills to perform measurements, quantity take-offs, drafting calculations, cost estimates and project scheduling.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, manufacturers and construction teams to deliver accurate project documentation.

Job type: Permanent/full-time

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000
