In this busy role at this large high activity operational site, your honed Operations & Safety Management skills will be fully utilised and your strong leadershipand people skills will be appreciated.

Reporting to the Head of Property and Operations, you will manage operations and safety compliance activities across a diverse site involving infrastructure, transport, facilities, contractors and daily large volume activities.

With strategic skills and a hands‑on working style, you will build relationships, can communicate and influence at all levels, challenge when needed, and drive accountability.

Key Responsibilities

- Be visible, ensure site activities are coordinated safely and efficiently
- Work with other managers, supervisors and contractors to maintain secure workflows and priorities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and risk management, identify hazards, and bottlenecks
- Foster continuous improvement and implement safety initiatives
- Lead incident and operational investigations and root cause, manage corrective actions
- Manage access control, compliance with site requirements, and associated activities
- Manage contractor activities, site access, inductions, permits and work controls
- Review, implement and enhance operational procedures and safety systems
- Oversee and manage site traffic flow, vehicle, plant and pedestrian interactions
- Contribute to operational planning, infrastructure initiatives and projects

Skills & Experience Required





- 10 years minimum leadership experience in operations, ideally gained within transport, logistics, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, operations
- Diploma in WHS, or similar safety qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation, compliance and regulations
- Experience managing WHS systems, governance and site safety, including planning and reporting
- Experience managing regulatory inspections, incident investigations and corrective action programs
- Commercial business acumen, align safety initiatives to operational outcomes
- Strong written, verbal and reporting skills
- High attention to detail, analytical and the discipline to follow through
- A strong communicator who builds credibility and trust quickly
- Practical, resilient and calm under pressure
- Results-focused with a strong sense of accountability
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- A completer who follows through and delivers outcomes
