Role focus:

The Service Design Architect works closely with Project Teams, Service Owners, Solution Architects, Transition Managers, Operational Support Teams and Business Stakeholders to ensure enterprise digital services are designed to be operationally supportable, sustainable and ready for successful transition into business-as-usual operations.

Key responsibilities:

- Develop enterprise ICT service strategies, service operating models and transition roadmaps that support the successful delivery and ongoing operation of digital services.
- Develop Service Operating Models, Operational Readiness Assessments and Transition to Business-as-Usual (BAU) approaches that ensure services are operationally supportable, sustainable and aligned with Queensland Health operational requirements.
- Provide specialist advice on enterprise ICT service architecture, operational service design, service lifecycle governance and operational readiness to support strategic planning, investment decisions and successful service outcomes.
- Collaborate with Service Owners, Project Managers, Solution Architects, Transition Managers, Customer Relationship Managers and operational support teams to ensure new and enhanced digital services meet agreed operational acceptance criteria before transition into production.




- Develop and maintain solid stakeholder relationships across Queensland Health, facilitating collaboration, communication and informed decision-making throughout the service design lifecycle.
- Identify emerging technologies, industry trends and leading practices, and assess their applicability to improve digital services, service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of service blueprints, support models, lifecycle management arrangements and other service design artefacts that enable effective governance and continual service improvement.

Mandatory experience:

- 5 or more years' experience in enterprise ICT service architecture, service design, service operating models, operational readiness, transition to business-as-usual and service lifecycle management within large and complex ICT environments. Experience applying service management and enterprise architecture frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT or equivalent would be highly regarded.
- Proven ability to develop service strategies, service operating models, service blueprints and operational support models that enable the delivery of sustainable, fit-for-purpose digital services aligned with business and operational requirement.




- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies, enterprise ICT services, service lifecycle management, support model development, operational readiness and continual service improvement practices.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with Service Owners, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Transition Managers and Operational Support Teams to develop service strategies, transition roadmaps and lifecycle management arrangements that ensure digital services remain sustainable and operationally supportable.
- A deep understanding of public sector operations, (particularly within the health care context) and the challenges faced by public sector managers in the provision of services.
- Demonstrated analytical and interpersonal skills commensurate with a complex and fast evolving service delivery organisation, including the ability to communicate with clarity and influence across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology services in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice influencing enterprise ICT service architecture, service strategy, operational readiness, lifecycle governance and ICT investment decision.
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification (ITIL) would be well regarded
